James E. Thompson III

Mr. Thompson handles tax research and tax opinion issues for governmental pension plans.  He routinely provides tax advice to governmental pension plans and is experienced in the drafting of plan provisions and legislative amendments.  He is also experienced in the preparation of estate planning documents and in negotiating disputes with the Internal Revenue Service.

 

Mr. Thompson graduated from The Pennsylvania State University in 2003 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics and International Business and in 2007 from the Loyola University New Orleans College of Law.  Following law school, Mr. Thompson returned to Pennsylvania to pursue a graduate law degree in taxation.  He graduated from the Villanova University School of Law in 2008 with a Master of Laws (LL.M.) in taxation.  He is admitted to practice before all state courts in Pennsylvania and Louisiana and before the United States Tax Court.

 

Mr. Thompson was born in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania on December 26, 1980 and now lives in New Orleans, Louisiana with his wife, Holly, and two children.
